Heard it through the Snapesvine

I was just browsing what was presumably a teenager’s Tumblr, which abounded with images of posh British boys/Doctor Who/fan-fiction sketches (is there a word for that?) of posh British boys getting off with Doctor Who. Obviously there was no Tumblr when I was at school, so our equivalent fix entailed spending most lunchtimes in the computer room, compiling similar compendiums of visual delight into endless Word documents, and printing out the spoils (to the chagrin of the computer room manager man), which, I think, then largely got pinned onto bedroom walls or glued onto folders. Discovering a never-before-seen photo of whatever fixation you had at the time was a GOLDEN moment.

There is no conclusion to this; I just think it’s quite lovely, the way that (mostly) teens have that impulse for completism (“I must have every photograph of this band/actor/cat meme!”), the desire to constantly gaze upon fixations, pin your colours to their mast so proudly.
